Chitradurga: A disturbing discovery unfolded as five skeletons were found in an advanced state of decay inside a decrepit house near Chalakere Gate in Chitradurga city.

The severely decomposed bodies have sparked considerable concern. A board bearing the name “Jagannatha Reddy” was noticed on the house, where the concealed remains of three individuals were revealed.

This unsettling find has alarmed local residents who came across the scene. The complete decay of the bodies, with visible bones, suggests a period of death stretching back approximately 8-10 years, casting an eerie mystery over the situation.

DYSP Anil Kumar and CPI Ahmed conducted an investigative visit to the crime scene in Chitradurga, falling under the jurisdiction of the Chitradurga Badavane Police Station. Dr. Chayakumari, leading a team from the sniffer dogs and FSL, examined the site.

The discovery of the deceased’s skull near the house’s gate brought attention to the incident. Jagannatha Reddy, formerly an Executive Engineer in the Tumkur PWD department, resided in Chitradurga with his wife Prema and daughter after retirement. The police have initiated an inquiry into the incident, prompting questions about the occupants and the unattended house over the years.
